The Senate Standing Committee on Community Affairs handed down the report of its investigation into forced adoption practices.  The report, “Commonwealth Contribution to Former Forced Adoption Policies and Practice” was compiled after Committee representatives travelled throughout Australia listening to the heart-rending stories of mothers who were forcibly separated from their babies and of adopted persons who suffered the loss of their families and identities. Over 500 written submissions were also received.
